FTC, Pastor Eugene Hoskins

Eugene Hoskins was born on July 30, 1934 in Forrest City, Arkansas.  As a small child his family moved to Arkadelphia, Arkansas.  Elder Hoskins was raised by his mother and grandmother.  Growing up, he was educated at Peaks High School (Grades 1-12).  At a young age, Eugene learned the value of hard work; he worked  diligently supporting his family by doing yard work and working in cotton fields.

During that time, his family attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where at the tender age of 12, he was converted.  While at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Elder Hoskins was a faithful member until the age of 15.  During these times as a young teen, he would often visit a nearby Church of God in Christ.  Under the leadership of Pastor Andrew Tate,  Elder Hoskins received the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1950 during a revival meeting.  Shortly thereafter, Elder Hoskins became a member of The Church of God in Christ.

In the fall of 1951, Elder Eugene went to visit his Aunt Josephine Russel in Springfield, Oregon and remained with his aunt for approximately one year eventually making Eugene, Oregon his home.  Though Eugene, Oregon would now be home, exchanging his toils in the cotton fields of Arkansas to a railroad occupation in Oregon, he remained committed to supporting family members who remained in Arkansas.  Later his Aunt Jose would introduce him to Pastor Wilson of New Jerusalem COGIC in Eugene, Oregon where he became a faithful member serving as Sunday School Supt. and also District President of the Youth Dept.

While attending the 1957 Washington State Convocation, he met Cametta Kinlow.  Later, Elder Hoskins would be formerly introduced to Cametta Kinlow by Mother Fanny Turner of Portland, Oregon.  In December of 1957, Eugene and Cametta were engaged to become Husband and Wife.  They were wed on July 15, 1958 by Elder T.L. Westbrook (Bishop Westbrooks' first wedding).

Shortly after Eugene and Cametta were wed, they attended and became members of Faith Temple COGIC located on "D" street in Bremerton, Wa under the leadership of Superintendent Nathaniel Kinlow Sr. (his father -in-law).   While on "D" Street, Elder Hoskins served as Sunday School Supt. and YPWW President.  Elder Hoskins has been a faithful member of Faith Temple COGIC since 1959.  From "D" Street to Trenton Ave, Elder Hoskins served under Pastor Nathaniel Kinlow as a young minister later to become the Associate Pastor,  positioning  him to be appointed Senior Pastor of Faith Temple COGIC.

Elder Hoskins is the husband of one wife, father of 3 daughters, grandfather of 5 grandsons and 3 granddaughters (1 deceased).  During his lifetime, Elder Hoskins has witnessed many miracles and moves of God.  God has been with him throughout his life time.  God has opened up many doors for Elder Eugene Hoskins and supplied all of his needs.  Elder Eugene Hoskins will continue to be faithful with the help of the Lord.
